The sooner the better... most women book a pool at around 30 weeks.

What if I have my baby before the hire period starts? back to top
*
The booking deposit is non-refundable. If you have paid the hire balance this will be refunded in full.

What happens if my baby is late? back to top
*
The hire period is calculated to reflect the time period in which most babies are born i.e. sometime between 38 and 42 weeks of pregnancy.

Should your pregnancy extend beyond the hire period then we will do our best to accommodate you. It may be possible to extend the hire period of your pool in the absence of another booking but this is not guaranteed. It may be possible to extend your hire period by substituting another pool but this is not guaranteed.

The inflatable takes about 15 mins to inflate. The oval &round pools take 20-30mins to assemble.

How long does it take to fill a pool? back to top
*
This depends on the efficiency of your water heating system and the pool type.

A Combi boiler, or continuous hot water supply, will take on average:

1-1½hours to fill the inflatable pool

1-2 hours to fill the oval pool

1-2 hours to fill the round pool

What type of hot water supply do I need to hire a pool? back to top
*
A Combi Boiler hot water heating system is ideal for all our pool types. If your hot water is heated intermittently with an immersion type system then you will have two Considerations:
  1. Is your hot water tank big enough i.e. will it comfortably fill your own bath? And
  2. How long does it take to heat enough water to fill your bath e.g the round pool will need 2-3 tanks of hot water to fill.
Please check whether or not your system has a thermostat as this can boost the temperature of the water and so reduce the amount of hot water you need to fill your pool.

How do I connect my water supply to the pool hose? back to top
*
We provide two different types of tap adaptor. These will connect to most taps.

Where in the room should I place the pool? back to top
*
The pool should be placed in a corner, along a wall or in a bay window. There should be no problem with the load bearing weight of any of our pools at home or in hospital. Please contact us if you are concerned.

Can I use the pool before I go into labour? back to top
*
Yes. It is essential to have a trial run. It is important to help you to decide the ideal placement of the pool, the filling time and to try out different positions. Once filled it would be a shame to waste all that water so get in, float and enjoy...

How do I prepare the pool for labour? back to top
*
Please refer to our detailed assembly instructions with each pool.

What happens if there is damage to the pool or accessories? back to top
*
We retain a security cheque for £60. After collection, the pool is inspected for any damage and for broken or missing items. We will return or destroy the security cheque if the pool and its contents are returned intact. The cost of any damage/ missing items will be deducted from the security deposit and the balance sent to you. All receipts will be forwarded. In the event of damage to the pool, you will be invoiced for any repairs that may be in excess of the security deposit.

How long does it take to empty the pool? back to top
*
The submersible pump is very efficient and empties the pool at a rate of 70 litres per min. So beware. Put the out-going pump hose in the bath. This should take approx. 15-20mins.

What happens if I finish with the pool before the end of the hire period? back to top
*
Contact us as soon as the pool is ready for collection. We will pick it up as soon as we can. There is no reduction in the hire charge as we are committed to the hire period. Early pool collection may make your home a little less crowded!

What about insurance? back to top
*
It is the responsibility of the person hiring the pool to ensure that their own insurance covers the unlikely possibility of the pool, or parts of it, being stolen, damaged, or of their own property becoming damaged when the pool is in use.

After an hour and a half in the pool, our daughter Lola was calmly born into the water. It was the most amazing thing to see her swimming up towards me, eyes wide open! Then the joy of quietly relaxing in the water with her in my arms right there in our bedroom. I couldn't have wished for a more beautiful way to bring her into this world.
